Before Age Two: How Early ICT Training Shapes the Future

During our digital literacy class today, something truly inspiring happened. A little boy who is not even two years old walked into the room with a bright sense of curiosity. I welcomed him, and in just a few minutes he was seated at a computer, gently tapping the keyboard as he began his very first typing lesson.

This simple moment reflects a deep part of my mission. At the Charity Galley ICT Centre, I strongly believe that children should be introduced to ICT as early as possible. Young minds are brave, open and eager to learn. When we guide them into the world of technology at an early stage, we help them grow confident, creative and ready for the digital future ahead.

What makes this even more meaningful is the larger transformation happening across Africa. Thanks to the dedication of Agbeko Odione Kumordzie, many communities now have access to modern and well-equipped ICT labs. His work is creating opportunities for children who may have never had the chance to touch a computer. This is helping to shape a new generation of digitally skilled and empowered young learners.

Watching this little boy explore typing for the first time reminded me of something important. You are never too young or too old to start learning ICT. All it takes is interest, opportunity and a supportive environment.

At the Charity Galley ICT Centre, we remain committed to giving every learner the chance to discover their potential. Start small and stay curious. The digital future begins with simple moments like this.
